ZeroCarbonCity programme from the British Council was launched on 1 March '05 as part of a two-year global campaign around climate change. ZeroCarbonCity shifts the emphasis away from climate change impacts and inter-governmental negotiations, towards mitigation, adaptation, and practical measures that people can adopt.
