Species Sea lavender - Limonium spp, plant
Habitat ESTUARIES
Background and status A hairless, upright maritime perennial up to 30cm tall. The leaves at the base of the plant are lance-shaped with a spine at the tip. The clusters of purplish flowers can be dried and used for decoration in winter. It is a plant of saltmarshes, where it can be dominant, forming extensive carpets of flowers. Flowers July-September.
