There are approximately 35
different species of seahorse in the world. The seahorse H.ramulosus
is rare but occurs throughout the English Channel and around the South West
coast. |

A major project is to be
carried out to find out whether the seahorse is resident or a summer vistior
to our waters. This work will be carried out by staff from the National
Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, Devon. |
