Species Robin - Erithacus rubecula, bird
Habitat URBAN HABITAT
Background and status

The robin is widespread, adaptable and can breed almost anywhere, although they tend to avoid higher ground. They can rear two or three broods in a season so they are fairly abundant and are most common in Wales and the South West.

They prefer areas with trees and dense vegetation but they catch most prey on the ground, so some open ground is also important. They can be found in coniferous and deciduous woods, gardens and hedgerows.
