An uncommon, many-branched,
low shrub with hairy stems, leaves in whorls of three, and distinct deep
pink flowers. It is found locally on wet acid heaths in Dorset, Devon and
Cornwall. Flowers June-September. It has a very limited distribution. |

Development of heathland sites.
Inappropriate management. Neglect can lead
to the plant being shaded out by invading trees and shrubs.
