There about 250
colonies of the Adonis blue butterfly in the UK, the majority of which are
found in Dorset and Wiltshire. This species is protected under Schedule
5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. |

Maintain existing populations, concentrating
on restoring suitable habitat in its current range, especially where
there are large colonies
